Job description
Exposure Management within Lloyd’s is no longer a back-office function, it sits at the centre of underwriting performance, catastrophe modelling and portfolio aggregation decisions.
We are supporting the continued build-out of a Lloyd’s-aligned specialty (re)insurance platform, operating across both syndicate and MGA structures, with a clear mandate to scale a global underwriting strategy.
As the platform evolves, exposure management is becoming a core control point across underwriting, actuarial and capital, not a reporting layer behind them.
This hire will sit in London as part of that build, working closely with portfolio leadership and directly influencing how risk is selected and deployed.
The Role
This is a front-line portfolio role, not a monitoring function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of exposure management across property catastrophe and specialty portfolios
- Driving aggregation and accumulation insight across both syndicate and MGA platforms
- Supporting underwriting decisions through real-time portfolio view, not retrospective reporting
- Working closely with actuarial and pricing teams as modelling capabilities evolve, including more advanced / AI-led approaches
- Contributing to portfolio construction and optimisation
- Supporting engagement with capital partners and internal stakeholders on portfolio view and risk appetite
Key Focus Areas
- Moving towards dynamic, real-time exposure monitoring
- Bridging underwriting, actuarial and capital perspectives
- Supporting the evolution of a more data-led platform
- Maintaining discipline as the platform scales
Candidate Profile
- Experience within Lloyd’s / London Market is essential
- Strong hands-on exposure management capability
- Comfortable across property catastrophe and broader specialty lines
- Experience with cat models and aggregation tools
- Technically credible, with the ability to engage commercially with underwriters and leadership
- Motivated by building a platform, not just operating within one
Opportunity
This is a platform at a genuine inflection point.
Exposure management sits at the centre of how risk is selected, structured and deployed, and this role offers direct proximity to underwriting, actuarial and capital decision-making.
For the right individual, there is a real opportunity to help shape how the function evolves as the business scales globally.
