This Housing Legal Assistant position gives you the opportunity to manage your own caseload under supervision, contribute to the defence of housing disrepair claims, and develop specialist experience in property litigation.

This is a part-time role (17.5 hours per week), with potential scope to temporarily increase to 31.5 hours per week. The role is office-based in Birmingham, with the possibility of one day working from home following the successful completion of training and supervision.
In this Housing Legal Assistant position, you will be:
Managing your own caseload of disrepair claims under supervision
Supporting the defence of pre-action and issued legal claims
Drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
Ensuring compliance with court procedures and relevant legislation
Liaising with internal teams, solicitors, and external stakeholders
Supporting tenancy management and wider litigation matters within the Housing Legal team
Maintaining accurate case records and documentation
Delivering a professional, customer-focused legal service
Id love to speak to any Housing Legal Assistant who has:
A 2:1 Law Degree or above, or LPC/SQE qualification (or equivalent)
Previous experience in a legal role or legal environment
Experience working within a housing background or housing-related organisation (desirable)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confidence working with internal teams and external stakeholders
An interest in developing experience in housing law and civil litigation
Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) (desirable but not essential)
