Finance is crucial to Morrisons’ success. You will be more than just a number here at Morrisons. You will be a true business partner to the wider business undertaking analysis, and providing commercial advice to decision makers and key stakeholders. Your influence will truly matter and make a difference – you will drive change and efficiency within your team.
The Property Accountant role is responsible for the management of the accounting, reporting and forecasting of over £500m of annual Property costs, including Rent, Rates and Utilities. The main purpose of the role is to provide financial control but business partnering is also key. The role will support Property stakeholders to ensure that costs are well understood and managed and provide finance support to a number of exciting capital expenditure and productivity projects. There will also be interactions with Group Finance, the wider Finance team, auditors and utilities suppliers.The role reports to the Property Finance Manager and has one direct report. The friendly Property Finance team comprises 9 fully and part qualified accountants and is highly visible in the Property function. The role presents a great opportunity to make an impact on key savings initiatives as well as providing scope for career progression within the team or wider Finance function.
About You
You will be a qualified Accountant through either CIMA, ACA or ACCA. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment solving problems and working to tight deadlines, therefore, time management skills are a must. You will love working as part of a team, and interacting with colleagues and key stakeholders at all levels across the business, internal and external to Finance.
You will be enthusiastic about Finance, and have the drive and ambition to influence change and efficiency. You will have excellent attention to detail allowing you to look at the bigger picture. You will have worked on monthly accounts packs and be proficient in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office, in particular Google Sheets/Excel, and Oracle.
