What are you going to do:
You will accompany students on the half-day trip, afternoon excursions and evening activities. Our Volunteer coaches must be incredibly enthusiastic, energetic and motivated, because they have an essential role in making the student experience rewarding, interesting and, above all, fun.
This is a role for people who like action, activity and who get on brilliantly with others. You will work closely with groups of around 20 students alongside Group Leaders and other Volunteer coaches. You will be part of an on-site team, run by a Course Director, working together to ensure the smooth and successful delivery of the course.
You will also act as a coach for up to 3 students on the course. Through a active listening a coach works to help empower students to achieve their academic dreams. As a coach you will catch up monthly via phone or Skype with your students to check-in on progress.
You will receive training in Universify Education's policies, child safeguarding, Mental Health First Aid, basic First Aid and coaching.
Main Duties
- Support the delivery of our successful courses
- Accompany and socialise with students on excursions, evening activities, and half-day trips
- Safeguarding student welfare striving to ensure students are happy, healthy and thoroughly enjoying the course
- Providing positive, friendly and helpful support to all staff and students
- Offer academic support to students in their work, providing insights into university life
- Help deliver group work sessions where students design their own university
- Generate great marketing material in co-ordination with the Group Leaders to generate content for our website, social media, blog and newsletter
- Coach 2-3 students on the course, helping them set and achieve their goals

Also seeking an Assistant Course Director:
You will be part of our on-course delivery team looking after students attending our one week residential courses. You will be responsible for a group of around 20 students and you will manage a team of Student helpers to ensure the smooth delivery of the course. This is a leadership role for energetic, committed and enthusiastic people. You will report to and work closely with the Programme Support and Programme Co-ordinator and Course Director.
Main Duties
- Delivering a successful course in co-ordination with Student helpers, other Assistant Course Directors, the deputy Course Director and Course Director
- Manage a group of Student Helpers to ensure the successful delivery of the course
- Responsible for the welfare and discipline of your group of students
- Confirming bookings, organising and leading student excursions, evening activities, day trips and restaurants trips
- Liaise with tutors to ensure students attend class and fulfil the academic element of the programme
- Offer academic support to students in their work, helping them with research
- Manage and record course finances in accordance with a set budget
- Deliver workshops on topics such as essay writing, debating skills, interview techniques, plagiarism etc
- Generate marketing material in co-ordination with your Student Helpers to generate marketing content for our website, social media, blog and newsletter
- Assist the Course Director in administrative and course delivery duties

Pay: The role is voluntary but meals and accommodation are provided
