Pearson India's Apprenticeship Program is designed for graduates and early-career professionals to gain structured training, practical exposure, and mentorship from experienced professionals. The program combines hands-on work with guided development to help apprentices build professional and technical capabilities within a global environment.About the Team The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team focuses on ensuring that platforms remain highly available, scalable, secure, and observable. The team collaborates closely with development, security, and product groups to design resilient systems, automate operational tasks, and improve system reliability through monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement.As an apprentice, you will work within this team and receive guidance from experienced SRE and DevOps engineers.About the Role In this role, you will learn how modern production systems are designed and operated at scale. The position suits individuals interested in cloud infrastructure, automation, system reliability, and troubleshooting in large distributed environments.Initially, you will work on guided tasks and gradually take responsibility for small improvements and system components as your skills develop.Key Responsibilities Assist with monitoring and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.Support CI/CD pipelines used for application deployment.Help configure monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.Participate in incident response activities under supervision.Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and document findings.Write basic automation scripts to reduce manual operational tasks.Maintain technical documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and system diagrams.Collaborate with development teams to improve application performance and reliability.Basic familiarity with Linux or Unix systems, networking fundamentals such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP, and general cloud computing concepts is beneficial.Exposure to scripting languages like Python or Bash, version control using Git, container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK can be advantageous.Experience You Will Gain Hands-on experience working with production-grade systems.Exposure to real-world DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices.Understanding of cloud infrastructure and reliability engineering concepts.Experience with monitoring, incident management, and automation workflows.Mentorship from experienced professionals along with regular feedback.A strong technical foundation for building a career in SRE or DevOps.Work Schedule This is a full-time apprenticeship running Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week.
