Mental Health Youth WorkerAre you enthusiastic about supporting the mental health and well‐being of children and young people?
Do you have experience supporting individuals who find it difficult to build social and emotional relationships?
In recent years there has been a massive focus on supporting the mental health of pupils who have been impacted by adverse childhood experiences. We are currently seeking practitioners to support these pupils on a 1:1 basis across schools in the area of Bridgwater. These opportunities also have an option of progressing onto a contract at the school.
As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker you will be involved in supporting pupils within the classroom, running activities with pupils outside the classroom, and working alongside the class teacher to ensure the right support is in place for the students.
These positions are full time and full support and guidance will be given. There will also be opportunities to complete additional training while in the role, including prevent, Team Teach and safeguarding training.
Responsibilities
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis across schools in Bridgwater.
Run activities with pupils outside the classroom.
Collaborate with class teachers to ensure appropriate support is in place.
Participate in ongoing training such as prevent, Team Teach and safeguarding.
Qualifications
Experience supporting children and young people in a school or alternative setting preferred but not required.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
