Youth Co-researcher (m/w/d)

Are you passionate about making a difference for young people in Blackpool? Boingboing Foundation is looking for Co-Researchers to join our friendly, community-driven research team.

4 - 6 hours per week
Between £13.44 and £13.45 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

We're a Blackpool charity that works with communities to shape better services for young people. We're looking for someone to join our research team, no experience needed, just an open mind and a willingness to get involved.

You'll take part in interviews, focus groups, and workshops, help make sense of what we find, and share results with the people who make decisions in our community. We'll give you full training and support every step of the way.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Cares about issues affecting young people
  • Can listen well and share their own views
  • Is reliable and happy to work as part of a team
  • Is comfortable using email and video calls

Person Specification

We're looking for someone who cares about young people and wants to help make things better for them. You don't need research experience, just curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to learn.

You should be someone who:

  • Has lived experience of inequality (e.g. class, gender, ethnicity, disability, or sexuality) and can draw on this at work
  • Can share your views and listen respectfully to others
  • Builds good relationships and treats people fairly
  • Is organised, reliable, and meets deadlines
  • Can manage emails, video calls, and calendars (training provided)
  • Is happy working both in person and remotely
  • Can manage a flexible schedule independently

Essential:

  • Based in Blackpool or able to commute
  • Interested in mental health, resilience, or improving services for young people in Blackpool
  • Willing to share experiences and listen to others
  • Available for regular team meetings and occasional training days

Desirable:

  • Uses social media creatively (e.g. TikTok, Instagram) and wants to help share our work online
