Course Director in London

Oxford Summer Courses seeks an enthusiastic, organised leader with a passion for education, with experience working with summer schools or in education to act as Course Director for our London-based programme.

8 - 22 hours per week
Between £2,800 and £3,500 Per Month

What are you going to do:

As a Course Director you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of our residential courses for international students, in July 2018, taking the lead in student welfare and working with the head office to ensure the effective delivery of all elements of the course.

You will manage a team of Teaching Assistants, all current or recent undergraduate or graduate students, responsible for looking after their student groups of around 12 students. You will receive training in Oxford Summer Courses’ policies, child safeguarding, Mental Health First Aid and basic First Aid.

Main duties of the role will include:

  • Manage the Teaching Assistants through daily meetings
  • Oversee the running of all non-academic aspects of the course acting as lead for student welfare and discipline
  • Ensure effective delivery of the course's social and cultural programme
  • Leading a cohesive team of on-course delivery staff to ensure staff and students' experience is a positive and memorable one
  • Manage day-to-day relations with the conference and events staff on-site
  • Manage the generation of marketing material in co-ordination with the Oxford Summer Courses Marketing Officer
  • Decision maker in emergencies
