Role Overview A Vacancy at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care with the multidisciplinary team and patients' families. As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will be required to support the senior and junior team in ensuring the needs of our patients are met through the delivery of high‐quality care.Key Responsibilities The role involves working as part of a large multidisciplinary team, including the ED medical team, clinical practice educators, safeguarding, mental health liaison team, and clinical specialties. The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse works clinically, including unsocial hours, and is expected to work competently in all areas of the Paediatric Emergency Department and be able to independently take charge of it. You will assist the Team leader in managing your own team of nurses and ensuring they meet their potential, be involved in retention and recruitment, develop leadership skills, deputise for the senior sister, and take link roles to drive change and improve standards. Key duties include managing patient journeys, ensuring safety, supporting families, and acting as a role model for junior staff while adhering to the NMC guidelines and Trust core values.Qualifications and Experience We are looking to appoint passionate, enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Band 6 Paediatric Nurses ready to take the next step in developing their leadership and management skills. Our department has an integrated Urgent Care Centre and Adult Emergency Department, receiving up to 90 ambulances per day and over 120,000 patients per year. Training and support for all staff is key to a happy team and safe patient care.
