Pastoral Support / Primary Tutor (Maths and English) with SEN Experience

Make a Real Impact as a Pastoral Maths & English TutorAre you a passionate educator, making a difference in the lives of students with SEN and SEMH needs ? We are looking for experienced and dedicated tutors who will provide personalised, 1:1 or group support with a focus on Maths and English , alongside incorporating physical activity through tennis and football for KS3 students. This role involves working with young people who may present with challenging behaviour , as well as social, emotional, and learning needs . These in‐person sessions in Hackney offer the chance to work closely with students, helping them build skills and confidence in a supportive and tailored learning environment.

Job Details

Location: In person in the Hackney area

Hours: Up to 9 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 15 hours

Available Days & Times: Tuesday - Thursday, 10am - 1pm

Subject & Level: KS1 Maths and English

Start Date: Immediate

Rate of Pay: £35.00 per hour

What You'll Do

Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individual(s)/group's needs and study level

Plan engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs of each student

Provide targeted support for students

Assess barriers to learning and create a positive and supportive learning environment

Monitor progress, produce reports and adapt teaching strategies to achieve measurable outcomes

Maintain up‐to‐date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you are providing tuition in

Regularly report updates to the Tuition Programme Manager

Requirements

A bachelor's degree or formal SEN/ADHD training or qualification

2+ years of tutoring or teaching experience

Experience working with students with ADHD

Experience with challenging behaviour

Confident in using positive behaviour management strategies

An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The right to be self‐employed in the UK

Enhanced DBS check is required for this role
