BE EVENT HIRE are recruiting temporary staff! At BE Event Hire we hire out and sell furniture. We are looking for Assistants for the summer season. The role includes preparing items of furniture for hire – loading vans and Lorries by hand and by forklift. Cleaning, painting, varnishing, mending and building furniture. Delivering and collecting the furniture and offloading and setting it up on site - either driving or being a driver’s assistant. Sometimes you will work independently, sometimes you will work in a team in our yard or at a venue such as the ExCel or NEC. In-house training is given.
The hours are 40 hours per week and paid at £8.25 to start with for over 25 years of age per hour up to 40 hours worked and then at time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
Throughout the summer there is usually a good amount of overtime to be worked. We have weekend work, so whilst core hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday if the business requires it you will need to work some hours during evenings and some weekends.
We are also welcoming applications from young persons aged 16 + for full-time holiday and additional weekend work from now.
Pay for young people will be awarded according to age and previous experience but will also be rewarded with time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
