Commissioning Manager – Commercial Projects

Location: London

Contract: Freelance / Contract

Rate: £600 per day

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a leading project delivery team on a portfolio of high-profile commercial developments across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commissioning professional with a strong track record of delivering complex MEP systems on large-scale commercial projects, ensuring successful testing, commissioning, and handover of critical building services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commissioning process from design review through to project completion.
• Develop and implement commissioning strategies, programmes, and procedures.
• Coordinate commissioning activities across MEP contractors, consultants, and client teams.
• Review commissioning plans, method statements, and test documentation.
• Manage witnessing of testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.
• Oversee integrated systems testing and client demonstrations.
• Drive programme milestones and support successful project handover.
• Monitor commissioning progress and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP building services and commissioning processes.
• Experience managing commissioning teams, subcontractors, and specialist vendors.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with commissioning management software and documentation systems.
• Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or equivalent).
