Charbonnel et Walker are purveyors of the finest quality chocolates and truffles. Established in 1875 on London’s Bond Street, Charbonnel et Walker is Britain’s first luxury chocolatier.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and driven Sales Executive to work closely with the Directors of this historical luxury brand.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities within the marketplace and driving sustained revenue growth within the wholesale division. The ideal candidate will be keen to exceed targets and demonstrate sales excellence.
This is a hybrid role, with requirements to frequently travel to our sites in Dorset and in and around London and to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifying new business opportunities, controlling new enquiries in a professional and efficient manner.
- Involvement in the sales process from start to finish including attending meetings, active selling and integration of customers into company systems.
- Maintaining relationships with customers by providing support, product information and guidance on their selected range in a professional manner.
- Sending price lists, brochures, credit application forms and any other relevant information to the customer.
- Keeping customers up to date with any changes to information for example new price lists or product changes.
- Organising tastings and demonstrations around the seasonal calendar to ensure all customers are aware of the full range available.
- Owning the setting up of new accounts, ensuring that all details are set up correctly including the completion of credit references by the accounts department.
- Liaising with stakeholders to ensure all deliveries are on track, ensuring that feedback is provided to the customer along the way.
- Gathering customer feedback and delivering this to the relevant person or department ensuring clear communication in order to limit recurring issues.
- Producing regular reports, updates on key accounts and reviewing sales performance to present to the Company Directors.
Required Skills & Experience
- At least 3 years sales experience
- Highly computer literate with the ability to navigate new systems with minimal guidance.
- Advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Ability to build positive working relationships; being outgoing and approachable.
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of the brand’s identity, heritage, values and positioning.
- Becoming a true brand ambassador, representing the company in a highly professional way at all times.
- Driving licence and the ability to frequently travel
Desired Skills & Experience
- Sales knowledge of the speciality food business, confectionery or luxury brand market.
- B2B and wholesale sales experience
