About The Role
 
We are currently recruiting for a Wholesale Buying Manager.
 
You will be passionate about your category of products  and will be the driver of  sales in all channels  providing your customers with products that they want to buy (across own brand and proprietary); which in turn will drive  profits, margin and  market share for the next 12 months.  You will own  supplier relationships  and you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to resolve all issues efficiently and effectively. 
 
 
 

 

About You

Knowledge Required:

  • Understanding of supply chain and promotion mechanics as well as store operations and the ability to derive value.
  • Product Knowledge -  the ability to be  considered  the business expert in your area and demonstrate a passion for product quality and provenance
 
Skills Required:

  • The ability to seek customer perceptions and motivations to inform and drive improvements, and translate these into sales and margin for Morrison's
  • Ability to judge the market and maximise sales margin .
  • The ability to coach, develop and motivate  team.
  • The ability  be the “central cog” to influence with effective interpersonal skills , other teams, such as Supply, Technical, Pricing, Product Development etc, to drive  delivery of your annual plan..
  • The ability to gain and integrate feedback from colleagues and customers to maximise sales and margin.
  • An ability to trade  within the constraints of trading standards and legal compliance.
  • The ability to create and execute and deliver an annual plan
Experience Required:
  • A track of record of effectively negotiating with suppliers.
  • A  track record of creating, project managing and driving the benefits from an annual plan,  such that  it maximises sales and margin.
  • The ability to use financial analysis and customer data to deliver business plan , which delivers increased brand perception and profit.
