What are you going to do:
This Full Stack Developer internship offers valuable work experience in technology in an entrepreneurial startup environment. You will have an opportunity to jump-start your career by learning, gaining experience and adding tremendous value to your professional career as a software engineer. You must be able to commit to the internship for a minimum of 3 months and should be within a commutable distance to London.
You'll work with our engineering team developing and contributing to all stages of development, from feature specification, to programming and testing, to bug fixes and long-term maintenance. You'll work both independently on tasks as well as alongside other members of the team, using Javascript, HTML, CSS, Sass, jQuery, Github for source control, and JIRA for issue management.
Job functions
- Assist with business requirements (functional and technical) to ensure the solution conforms to the requirements and delivers on schedule.
- Assist with the definition and development and execution of unit and integration testing scenarios.
- Participate in, and contribute to brainstorms and planners.
- Assist in support (e.g., break/fix, how to expertise, minor enhancements, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting).
Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Ruby on Rails experience
- Knowledge of OO principles and ability to work with a large object-oriented Javascript codebase.
- A good eye for UI/UX design, and a solid understanding of responsive design.
- Experience with jQuery, nodejs, angularjs, and Git is preferred, but not required.
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies/frameworks independently.
- Positive attitude, self-starter with strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate technical requirements in a way all can understand.
- Self-managed and motivated to work in an independent environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organized and detail oriented
