Cam Uley Family Practice islooking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Dispenser or TraineeDispenser to join our friendly and supportive dispensary team.
This is an excellent opportunityfor either an experienced dispenser or someone wishing to begin a career indispensing within a busy GP practice. Full training and support will beprovided for the successful trainee candidate, including the opportunity toundertake an accredited dispensing qualification.
The successful applicant willplay an important role in ensuring patients receive their medication safely,accurately, and efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
Main duties of the job
- Dispense prescribed medications safely and accurately in accordance with practice procedures.
- Process repeat prescriptions in a timely manner.
- Label, prepare, and issue medicines to patients.
- Respond to patient queries professionally and courteously.
- Maintain accurate dispensing records.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and receipt of medicines.
- Support the dispensary team in maintaining regulatory and practice standards.
- Participate in training, audits, and continuous professional development activities.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Work to the practices SOPS
About us
We are a teaching practice. We have 4 GP Partners, 6 GPS, a paramedic,GP trainees, a clinical pharmacist, a pharmacy technician, 5 nurse and 4 HCAS.As well as a large team of administrative staff. We have 2 sites; one locatedin Cam and our Dispensing practice located in the village of Uley.

The role develops competence in all aspects of dispensing, stock control, and patient communication, progressing from supervised training to independent practice.
Hours are as follows :-
Tuesday 08.00 - 18.30 one hour lunch unpaid
Wednesday 08.00 - 18.30 one hour lunch unpaid
Thursday 08.00 - 18.30 one hour lunch unpaid
Total 28.5 hours must be able to cover sickness and annual leave.

- Dispensing qualification (NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent).
- Experience using clinical systems such as SystmOne.
- Understanding of NHS confidentiality and information governance requirements.
