What are you going to do:

The role of a Trip Leader

Our trip leaders are responsible, together with their follow crew, for the day-to-day running of a Topdeck trip. This involves:

  • informing passengers about Europe, including country and city introductions as well as conducting driving or walking tours;
  • liaising with suppliers;
  • managing trip expenses;
  • socializing with passengers and providing support where needed;
  • initiating group activities; and
  • providing 'inside tips' to passengers and assisting them to plan their own free time.

As a trip leader you are at times an educator, a friend, a counselor, a parent, a guidebook, an events planner and always a positive influence on the group.

What we look for in our Trip Leaders

We want trip leaders who:

  • have a genuine interest in and love for European history;
  • can develop good study habits both before and during their on-road career;
  • demonstrate a true passion for sharing their European experience with others;
  • are organized, with the ability to remain flexible where required;
  • can solve problems logically and creatively;
  • have excellent communication skills;
  • prioritise team work; and
  • demonstrate professionalism at all times.

How do you become a Trip Leader for Topdeck?

Eligibility
To apply you must be able to work in the UK and Europe. You must have:

  • UK or European Union Passport;

It is up to all road crew to ensure their own eligibility. Passports or Visas need to be acquired before our Training commences in April.

Core skills and competencies
As a trip leader you must:

  • be confident in public speaking;
  • have relevant life experience in order to deal with difficult situations that occur on the road;
  • have demonstrated previous work experience in a professional environment;
  • have a keen interest in European history and culture; and
  • have previously travelled in Europe.
