About Us

The Student Experience Team which forms part of Faculty Education Services are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and highly organised individual who can coordinate and support an excellent student experience; focusing on our undergraduate and postgraduate taught students.

Working effectively with a diverse number of stakeholders both in faculty and across King's; including academic and clinical partners and other Faculty Education Services teams. The Student Experience Manager will need to be service oriented in a highly operational environment, able to manage competing priorities with flexibility and excellent communication skills.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of the challenges affecting students in Higher Education and be aware of how the sector is navigating these. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate impact and an approach to celebrating student success. Some experience of managing projects would be beneficial.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to foster a stimulating, innovative and inclusive environment for FoLSM students to develop, succeed and integrate into all aspects of University life, on campus and in their placement locations.

The Student Experience Manager will be responsible for leading on student experience and student voice initiatives, responding to student feedback and data accordingly to ensure shared priority goals across all key stakeholders.

Successful candidates will have knowledge of the issues affecting students in Higher Education and a desire to improve the student experience. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, experience of managing projects/events/campaigns and an approach to celebrating student success through communications and prize giving events.

A particular area of responsibility is managing and coordinating the Faculty Student Hub, as the student gateway to Faculty Education Services via a daily in-person provision at Guy's campus, online drop in service and online appointment provision.

The role involves manging a small team and a large number of student leaders. Some weekend and evening work will be needed with advance notice.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria
  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent, or has relevant work experience within the Higher Education sector.
  2. Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  3. Good working knowledge of all communication disciplines, including social media and communications tools such as Microsoft software and content management systems, and their use as part of an integrated communications strategy.
  4. Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to manage own workload and prioritise tasks in a busy work environment, managing multiple work-streams independently.
  5. Good level of numeracy and analytical skills including experience of evaluating activities, budget management, web analytics, surveys and using data to improve communications.
  6. Experience of delivering events on differing scale and prominence
  7. Communications: Ability to communicate, and present, effectively in an assured manner with a range of stakeholders, including academic staff.
  8. Drive for Excellence: Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, being self-motivated and approachable, with good time management skills.
  9. Resilience and adaptability: Enthusiastic self-starter with a positive and determined approach to work, knowing when to work independently and flexibly but also when best to work as part of a team.
