Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Logistics Branch Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a busy logistics branch. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven leader with a strong background in logistics, sales, and people management.

As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth, delivering outstanding customer service, managing branch performance, and ensuring the overall profitability of the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring efficient and effective performance.
  • Drive sales growth by developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch sales and profitability targets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer queries or complaints promptly.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and develop branch employees to achieve high performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive team culture.
  • Manage branch budgets, monitor financial performance, and control costs.
  • Prepare reports on branch performance for senior management.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to support local promotional campaigns and increase brand awareness.
  • Represent the business at networking and community events.
  • Promote wider company services and identify opportunities across the Group.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety, quality, environmental, and trade compliance procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of market trends and competitor activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Branch Manager or in a similar senior management role within the logistics or freight sector.
  • Strong sales, business development, and customer relationship management experience.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive profitability.
  • Financially astute with experience managing budgets and analysing performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
