About the role
The Junior Business Systems Analyst will work as part of the overall Central IT team, reporting to the Business Systems Lead. This is a hands-on, technical customer service role covering the full lifecycle of BDP's business systems - from day-to-day application support and troubleshooting through to solution design, workflow development, integrations, and analytical/BI reporting.

You'll engage directly with departments and stakeholders across BDP, investigating user problems, gathering requirements, and translating them into practical specifications and solutions. The level of ownership and technical depth in the role will be shaped around your existing experience - this is a role with genuine room to grow from supporting existing systems into designing and building new solutions.

You must be able to work as part of a team, be self-motivated, proactive, highly organised, and customer service-oriented.

Key responsibilities

• Support and administration for BDP's business systems application suite (ERP, HR, CRM).
• Act as a key point of contact between IT and stakeholders, addressing support tickets, workflow, reporting and development requirements.
• Investigate user problems and needs, identify requirements, and determine specifications for potential solutions.
• Support leads with solution design for BI and MI reports, dashboards, and data warehousing.
• Support system integrations.
• Support workflows and solutions to improve how the practice operates and reports.
• Database administration.
• Produce clear technical, procedural and administrative documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of information processed, stored and accessed.

About you
Essential

• Customer service experience with a confident, user-focused manner.
• Experience administering HR and ERP solutions.
• Confident, independent approach to prioritising workload and assessing business requirements.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure.
• Data analysis skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Security-conscious approach to data.
• Dedication to self-study and continuous personal development, with a genuine willingness to learn new technical skills and tools on the job.

Desirable (Training support will be given to build these where needed):

• Knowledge of T-SQL (views, tables, stored procedures, triggers, functions).
• Exposure to Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, SQL Reporting Services) and experience building reports.
• Experience with MS SQL Server.
• Systems integration experience via REST/SOAP API, SSIS, Zapier or similar.
• Data integration and transformation skills (TSQL, JSON, XML).
• Software development knowledge or skills (VB.NET / C# / PowerShell / Python).
