Junior Derivatives Lawyer (Interim Contract) | Fully Remote
A leading global financial services organisation is seeking a Junior Derivatives Lawyer to join its legal team on an interim basis, with an immediate start available through to the end of 2026 and strong potential for extension.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regarded derivatives practice, supporting a broad range of complex and high-value transactions across multiple asset classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating a broad range of derivatives documentation, including confirmations and ancillary agreements.
- Running derivatives transactions with a high degree of autonomy, including:
- Loan hedging transactions
- Deal-contingent transactions
- Structured repo transactions
- Advising on derivatives matters across different products, asset classes and transaction types.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders, clients and counterparties to deliver commercial and pragmatic legal advice.
- Drafting and reviewing industry opinions and assisting with advice relating to derivatives legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Supporting the continued development of the wider derivatives practice.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues and contributing to a high-performing, team-focused environment.
About You
- Qualified lawyer with demonstrable derivatives experience.
- Strong technical understanding of derivatives products, financial markets and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience drafting and negotiating derivatives documentation and managing transactions through to completion.
- Experience within any derivatives asset class will be considered, provided you are open to broadening your expertise across a wider practice.
- Comfortable dealing directly with counterparties, clients and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, commercial judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach.
