Job description

Gallery FUMI is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, dedicated Gallery Intern. The candidate will act as a key support across all areas of the business. This is a junior part-time position and would suit an individual looking to develop their skills in the contemporary design scene.

 

The selected candidate will have had an education and experience in contemporary art/design. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in developing skills across all gallery departments.

Role: Gallery Intern

Location: Mayfair, London

Hours: Monday & Wednesday 10AM – 6:30PM, Saturday 11AM – 6PM

Salary: DOE

 

Job Requirements

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about contemporary design
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Adobe: InDesign and Photoshop
  • Preferred experience of working with ArtLogic or similar gallery database platform
  • Willingness to learn
  • Excellent collaborator
  • Ability to take direction and work hard
  • Based in London with the right to work in the UK
  • Fluent in written and spoken English


Responsibilities:

  • Sales: updating Artlogic and Mailchimp databases; supporting sales with enquiries, client liaison and taking payments over the phone.
  • Exhibitions, events and art fairs: install and deinstall support.
  • Marketing: assist with press enquiries and social media; proofread newsletters and catalogues; sharing catalogues, images and press packs through Dropbox.
  • Gallery maintenance: upkeep of stationary supplies; ensuring gallery space and displayed works are always tidy and clean; removal of waste daily; ensuring gallery kitchen and bathroom stock is updated, running gallery errands.
  • Administration: managing the info@ inbox and forwarding mail to relevant departments; acting as occasional PA to gallery directors.
  • FOH: greeting visitors; providing work and artist information to visitors in person and over the phone; answering the gallery phone.
  • Logistics: support with organisation, tracking and shipment of artist samples; prepare Certificates of Authenticity and Care Manuals for clients; condition check and take measurements of new works.
