Job description
An established manufacturing and engineering business is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to take responsibility for logistics operations across a main manufacturing facility and two satellite warehousing sites.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials, components and finished goods from warehouse and production through to customer delivery.
The Role
The Logistics Manager will plan, coordinate and optimise both internal manufacturing logistics and external distribution activities, while leading logistics teams across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the movement of materials, components and sub-assemblies between warehouses, stores and production
- Coordinate finished goods from production through to warehousing and customer sites
- Develop logistics plans around production schedules, project requirements and customer deadlines
- Manage third-party logistics providers, transport contractors and haulage partners
- Oversee inventory control and efficient warehouse operations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve service levels
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Projects and Sales teams
- Manage logistics and warehouse personnel across multiple sites
About You
The successful candidate will have
- Proven experience in Logistics, Supply Chain or Warehouse Management within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of logistics planning, warehouse management and stock control
- Experience managing both internal manufacturing logistics and external distribution
- Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
