What are you going to do:
We're looking for a Social Media Intern to join our creative team. You will be producing content across our social media platforms within our multiple brands.
The ideal candidate will have had experience in social media marketing/ instagram/ facebook/ youtube/ twitter and snapchat adverts, laying out news and features articles, probably in a print environment and will therefore understand the relationship with story, headline and pictures and how they work together.
Quickly you will add motion and animation to your designs using Adobe After Effects, so some knowledge of this software or a passion and ability to learn new skills, is key.
You will be part of a team that is creative, and can come up with ten ideas each in the morning, loves internet memes, movies, TV and popular culture and keeps tabs on viral video content.
Responsibilities:
Initially, you will be producing hard-working layouts for our stories making best use of pictures and type. Then you'll work towards:
- Making funny 10-sec animations in After Effects
- Making animations in After Effects
- Editing and adding captions to short videos
- Sourcing and/or making all your own video, graphic, sound FX and music assets
- Handling sensitive news subjects in a considerate manner
- Handling gross content and knowing where to censor
- Keeping up with news current affairs and celebrity love affairs in equal measure but also internet and design trends
- Keeping an eye on quality control across the finished product and always having your colleagues' back
- Maintaining a great sense of humour when deadline pressure reaches ELEVEN on the scale
What we offer:
- Intern - Travel Expenses + £7.50 / £10.00 per hour
- Part-time £10.00 / £12.00 per hour
- Full time £12.00 / £14.00 per hour
What we ask:
- At least finished college A levels
- 1 to 2 years
- 6 to 12 months
- High levels of competence with Photoshop with awareness of the Adobe CC software
- Ability to brainstorm ideas during morning conference every day
- Being a quick learner and a hard worker
- Enthusiasm to discover new techniques to share with the team (because we do share and help each other)
- Ability to create attractive designs that show you have a flair for layout, type design, colour and picture selection
- Flexible with working patterns
