Job description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Paralegal to join a high-profile statutory Public Inquiry investigating Scotland's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is a unique opportunity to support a nationally significant investigation, working alongside Solicitors and Counsel to review evidence, prepare legal documentation and contribute to complex investigations that will help shape future public policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Solicitors and Counsel with reviewing evidence and preparing reports and legal documentation.
- Support the gathering and analysis of witness evidence.
- Prepare and review core participant documentation.
- Cross-check documents prior to publication and complete legal redactions.
- Liaise with Solicitors and Counsel throughout investigations.
- Conduct legal research and analyse large volumes of complex documentation.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal within a law firm in Scotland is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of Scots law and Scottish legal procedures.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining calm under pressure.
- Excellent analytical, research and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What's on Offer
- Salary of £39,767 per annum. LTD day rate £207.58 PAYE (INC) £177.14
- 12-month contract with the potential for extension.
- Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the Edinburgh office.
