Description

We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team at DPC, part of the Sumer Group.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4 and looking to build their practical experience within a supportive accountancy practice.

You'll gain exposure to a variety of clients and accounting work, while developing your technical skills and working towards your qualification.

Key Responsibilities

As an Accounts Assistant, you'll support the wider team with a range of accounts and bookkeeping activities, including:
  • Assisting with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Assisting with VAT returns.
  • Supporting with basic tax and accounting work.
  • Processing invoices, payments and other financial transactions.
  • Assisting senior members of the team with client assignments.
  • Liaising with clients and colleagues to obtain information when required.
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Developing your knowledge and experience across different areas of accountancy.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We're looking for someone who is:
  • Currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4, or looking to continue their AAT studies.
  • Ideally has some experience within an accountancy practice, although this isn't essential.
  • Interested in building a long-term career in accountancy.
  • Numerate, organised and detail-oriented.
  • Keen to learn and develop their technical knowledge.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Confident communicating with colleagues and, where appropriate, clients.
  • Reliable, proactive and keen to take on new responsibilities as they develop.
