Composite Fitter

Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–2:30pm
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Composite Assembly Fitter to join a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing business at the forefront of composite technology. Supporting customers across the aerospace, defence, automotive and space sectors, the company is transforming the production of lightweight composite structures through innovative manufacturing processes and automation.
As a Composite Assembly Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, bonding and finishing of high-performance composite components, ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and delivered in line with customer requirements.

Job Description
- Carry out controlled structural adhesive bonding processes, including surface preparation, adhesive application, curing and validation.
- Assemble composite components in line with engineering drawings, CAD data and manufacturing instructions.
- Perform fettling and finishing activities using approved tools and equipment.
- Inspect and maintain jigs, fixtures and tooling in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete production documentation and job bookings accurately.
- Identify and report assembly, tooling or component issues.
- Follow all Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
- Maintain excellent standards of quality and housekeeping.

Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a fitting, assembly or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Composite Fitter
Desirable
- Experience working with composite materials.
- Knowledge of structural adhesive bonding processes.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Engineering apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification.
