This role sits within our Trading & Planning Control team who providing analysis regarding budgeting and planning to deliver key strategic and commercial targets for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Role
Owner of the tools to implement new lean planning processes to fit the Primark Model
Harmonise planning methodology for all B&M with the key interfaces of IT, Finance, Retail and Supply Chain
To be the technical 'GO TO' person for Planning process for B&M

Planning - Lean Process Implementation and Change Management
Under the guidance of the Planning Manager, review and align B&M processes within the product critical path to improve stock placement and profitability e.g. Carton and Ratio project
Co-ordinate a Grading process that is fit for purpose; improving option management and profitability
Develop and deliver a lean form of Space planning to fit the Primark model


Budgets – Formulating and supervising budgets to maximise profit
Assist the Trading Manager & Planning Manager to formulate an annual budget strategy with the Director of Financial Operations to establish sales, margin, mark-down, contribution and stock turn targets for each department and consolidate for total company at country level
Support the teams to manage sales phasing as well as price, colour and size architecture

Systems – Develop and Enhance
To be involved in the successful implementation of all modules regarding Project Nexus systems planning
To ensure, along with the planning team and the Reporting & Systems Manager, that all Nexus enhancements and modifications are Fit for Purpose and Future Proof

Analysis & Approach
Develop a harmonised approach to the Strategy & Sign Off process and packs to meet Board requirements
To develop merchandising process and analysis with the Group Trading & Planning Controller and Trading Manager to deliver a lean Merchandising approach that both supports and drives the Buying function

People – Recruiting, leading and motivating team to achieve company standards
To ensure good communication and a strong working relationship between Buying and Merchandising & the three Central Merchandising pillars of Trading, Planning, Reporting & Systems
