About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and organised Paralegal to join our residential conveyancing team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality legal and administrative support throughout the conveyancing process, assisting with matters from instruction through to completion and post-completion.
This role would suit someone with previous conveyancing experience who is looking to develop their career within a busy and client-focused property team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files.
- Assist with sale and purchase transactions, including freehold and leasehold matters.
- Request and review property information and relevant documentation.
- Order and review property searches and assist with raising and responding to enquiries.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing contracts, transfer documents and other conveyancing documentation.
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, lenders, other solicitors and third parties throughout the transaction.
- Assist with exchange of contracts and completion processes.
- Prepare completion statements and assist with financial aspects of transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper files.
- Monitor key dates, deadlines and transaction milestones.
- Provide regular updates to clients and respond promptly to enquiries.
- Maintain accurate records on the firm's case management system.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with firm procedures, professional standards and relevant regulations.
- Provide general administrative and legal support to the conveyancing team as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience working within a conveyancing or property environment.
- Good understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a number of matters simultaneously and work to deadlines.
- Professional and confident approach when dealing with clients and third parties.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using case management systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience handling freehold and leasehold residential transactions.
- Familiarity with HM Land Registry procedures.
- Experience with conveyancing searches, enquiries, exchanges and completions.
- Legal qualification or relevant legal studies, such as an LLB, LPC or SQE.
