Job description
Role: Interim Senior Total Reward Analyst - EU Pay Transparency Programme - 9 month contract
Remote Base: UK OR Europe
Compensation: IRO ~£100,000 plus package OR market equivalent daily rate
Middlemore is partnering on a search for an experienced Reward professional to join a highly successful international professional services organisation, supporting delivery of their EU Pay Transparency Directive programme.
This is a technically strong, analytically led role at the centre of a live, high-visibility regulatory programme spanning 10+ European markets. You'll build the compensation analysis and benchmarking that sits behind the organisation's response to the Directive, working closely with an external market data partner (Aon) and translating complex workforce data into a narrative senior leaders can act on.
Working closely with the International Head of Total Reward and wider Total Reward leadership team, you will:
- Build pay equity and gender pay gap analysis across EU countries, using internal workforce data alongside external market benchmarking.
- Model the cost of remediating pay disparities identified against Directive thresholds, translating this into risk exposure that can be presented to senior country leadership.
- Support the design and validation of fair, transparent, market-aligned salary ranges, ensuring alignment to job architecture and levelling.
- Partner with an external benchmarking provider to bring market data into salary range and job levelling decisions.
- Support the recalibration of a global job architecture across individual contributor, professional and management tracks, helping it correlate more effectively with local market practice.
- Distil technical pay analysis into clear, simple narrative for HR leadership to take into business conversations.
- Contribute to wider readiness activity for mandatory pay transparency reporting, including data validation and governance across multiple countries.
We are looking for an established reward or pay equity professional who combines strong technical analysis with the ability to translate that analysis for a senior, non-technical audience.
You are likely to bring:
- Strong experience in total reward, compensation & benefits, or pay equity analytics, ideally within a multinational organisation.
- Direct experience with gender pay gap analysis, pay equity remediation, or EU Pay Transparency Directive readiness.
- Advanced Excel and strong data analysis skills, with genuine confidence building models rather than relying on templates.
- Experience working with an external market benchmarking provider and reconciling external data against internal workforce data.
- Exposure to job architecture, banding or job levelling design.
- A background in professional services, consulting, or another fee-earning environment would be well suited to this role, given the comp structures involved.
- Fluent English with any additional European language skills being seen as beneficial
- Experience of European Works Council
This is an opportunity to play a key analytical role in how a major international organisation responds to one of the most significant pieces of pay legislation in a generation, with genuine visibility to senior leadership from the outset.
Please note the successful individual can be based anywhere in the UK or another Continental European location as this role is being hired on a remote basis.
