Commercial Officer| Central Government | SC-Cleared | £350 - £450 a day Inside IR35 DOE | London, primarily remote
Pigment Consulting specialises in the delivery of change & transformation programmes across the public sector. We partner with other consultancies, government departments, and private sector organisations to deliver high-impact solutions that embed efficiency, governance, and commercial best practice into complex work.
Several of Pigment's Central Government programmes have urgent requirements for Commercial and Procurement Consultants at SEO grade to help us deliver efficiencies on some of the highest value contracts across Central Government.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of commercial and procurement strategies.
- Manage commercial activity throughout the contract lifecycle, from sourcing and tendering through to contract management and close-out.
- Provide commercial advice and guidance to internal stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Support procurement exercises in line with relevant public sector procurement legislation and government commercial policy.
- Develop and review procurement and commercial documentation, including requirements, evaluation criteria, tender documentation and contract terms.
- Monitor supplier performance, commercial risks, costs and contractual obligations.
- Support contract negotiations and help deliver value for money.
- Maintain strong commercial governance, ensuring appropriate approvals and audit trails are in place.
- Build effective relationships with suppliers, procurement colleagues and senior internal stakeholders.
- Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities and dependencies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across commercial and procurement processes.
Required Experience:
- Proven history working in commercial / procurement / contracts across Central Government is essential.
- Ability to operate at Officer / Coordinator / Analyst level.
- Experience managing contracts or procurement exercises.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
