MJ Events are recruiting for event stewards and security

If you love events as much as we do, join our team of stewards and security and work alongside all the action at fantastic outdoor events and venues. From festivals to cycling tours, charity walks and sporting venues. We specialise in crowd management, car parking and race marshals for live events in the South of England, London and South Wales. Most events are over evenings and weekends from around April through to December so can fit in perfectly around your other commitments. Only sign up to work on days you are free, no weekly contracted hours. Full induction and training provided.

What are you going to do:

MJ Events Support provide staff to a range of different events. Therefore, the role of Event Steward can vary depending on the type of event.

The primary role is to assist with the delivery of an enjoyable and safe experience. We require our stewards/security to provide a high level of customer care and practical assistance. They are very much the 'face' of the event and it is therefore important that stewards present themselves in a positive and professional manner at all times.

The following tasks will be applicable to all roles in some way:

  • Greeting and welcoming guests
  • Answering simple questions e.g. timings, location of toilets and other facilities.
  • In the event of an emergency, assist as appropriate (specific instructions will be given in the briefing)

In addition, steward duties might include:

  • Check and scan entrance tickets
  • Answer simple questions e.g. timings, location of toilets and other facilities.
  • Clear the site of guests at the end of the event
  • In the event of an emergency, assist as appropriate e.g. in the case of a fire, direct guests to the designated safe location (instructions will be given in the safety briefing)
  • Keeping the route sterile by stopping spectators entering or crossing
  • Manning crossing points to allow pedestrians to cross the route safely
  • Ensure gangways and exits are kept clear
  • Prevent spectators from climbing fences or barriers
