SEC Food are currently looking for an Operations Manager to lead a team of managers and supervisors within the SEC Campus.

About the role:

The Operations Manager will develop and lead a team of assistant managers and supervisors. To run various events throughout the campus to ensure all hospitality catering requirements are delivered in line with our client expectation,manage client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner ensuring compliance and company policies are adhered to.

Overall Purpose of the Role
• Delivery of consistent, excellent customer service standards
• Managing service standards and staff development
• Manage client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner whilst ensuing we are true partners in their business whilst engaging with support functions, internal & external stakeholders and suppliers
• Controlling costs & driving sales growth
• Review business performance and ensure delivery of key financial targets. Demonstrate commercial value to your direct reports, line manager and Leadership teams in line with the one Compass vision, values and overall business strategy.
Key Accountabilities
Operational Excellence
– Delivery of consistent and exceptional service standards to achieve and ideally exceed agreed KPIs and grow our business in line with the SEC values and mission
– Liaise with Conference clients to scope, plan and deliver their event requirements.
– Regular monitoring and development of each catering area to include ‘look and feel’, food quality and presentation, staffing reviews, stock and hygiene checks.
– Liaison with 3rd party supplier and contractors to underpin effective service delivery.
– Own the delivery of health and safety policy and process.
– Operate and further develop consistently high brand standards within defined area.
– Share and act on client and customer feedback continually.
– Actively work to identify key competitors and work to drive innovation within the Conference sector to ensure we stay ahead of the game
– Ensure compliance with all Responsible Alcohol Service processes throughout the venue and business

People
– Responsible for the development and retention of a team of managers, supervisors and frontline staff, providing inspirational leadership
– Work closely with your team of managers and supervisors to develop and sustain a high level of team energy and engagement, focused on great food and hospitality.
– Conduct regular appraisals, performance reviews and succession planning activity, based on agreed result areas and KPI’s
– Own and drive the training plan and activity for your remit
– Ensure effective communication flows in all directions across your team and with peers and colleagues throughout the business.

Financial & Business Development
– Commercially accountable for all aspects of the Conference business within the SEC, actively working with financial colleagues to deliver accurate and timely forecasts and budgets
– Be in control of all operating costs in line with set targets.
– Analysis of performance statistics to identify opportunities for growth.
– Liaising with culinary and marketing specialist colleagues to implement continuous product development and drive footfall and SPH

Client Relations

– Ensure that positive and healthy relationships are held with the client
– Agree a communications structure and ensure regular meetings take place with the key client and all actions are delivered from this
– Work with the Conference teams to support in the successful delivery of the clients mission and vision statements ensuring the continual development of the client partnership
– Support the retention plan of the business in any way possible

Essentials

• Extensive experience in a demanding, high volume, multi-purpose venue.
• Nice.
• Awareness of Corporate Hospitality, Banqueting and Retail sectors.
• Experience of working within a changing environment.
• Experience of working with and managing large teams.
• High degree of IT proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead others with differing levels of experiences
