Apprentice Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Fixed Term for 3 years

1st 12 months at £160 per week for 12 months and thereafter at National Minimum Wage for relevant age at that time.

Are you interested in a career in Nuclear Medicine? This may be the position you're looking for. In this post you will be working towards a level 6 Bsc Healthcare science practitioner degree to be able to undertake the role of a clinical Technologist. An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 x Apprentice Trainee Nuclear Medicine posts based in the Nuclear Medicine Department at Glenfield Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Our Nuclear Medicine departments carry out a full range of imaging, non-imaging and therapies.

If you are scientifically minded with appropriate qualifications and work experience this is an ideal opportunity for you to study, train and develop. These posts require individuals who are enthusiastic, well-motivated, possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as a keen eye for detail, and the ability to accurately record and input information.

You will be expected to undertake administrative work and general housekeeping within this role

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given, however, the successful candidate should demonstrate an understanding of the role, as there will be assessments on the day of the interview. Therefore all interested candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the departments.

These posts are on a 3 year fixed term contract to start on £160/week, which will increase after 12 months to national minimum wage in years 2 and 3. You will attend university on a day/block release basis gaining a BSc in Healthcare Science Practitioner degree (Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
