News/Journalism Work Experience (Flexible, Part-Time) - London

After a successful 10-year World News site, we are planning to expand onto social media platforms including videos for YouTube and creating podcasts. Be a part of the journey!

We're looking for 1-2 people who are multifaceted, highly competent and have potential. Although this is part-time, we need commitment and a sense of responsibility. Apply if you want to build your portfolio and experience!

Main duties:

Prepare 'automatic schedules' ahead of time for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter using later.com by designing the posts, and filling in description with appropriate hashtags.

This will only take a few days of a month, which will give you more time for other duties such as: 

  • Assisting in research for videos and podcasts, even pitching ideas 
  • Assisting with writing and recording news podcasts
  • Possibility of interviewing guests or presenting 
  • Filming/lighting when necessary (will be taught if unfamiliar)  

The duties above depend on the week, as our schedule is based on priority. 

Currently, in our office there are 2 part-time colleagues - sometimes working on the go, so you will be working closely with me, Gloria as I manage Social & Digital Media.

This is a new small team of people as we have only just started this department, so if you want to the chance to build-up with us, we welcome your application! 

Though this role is unpaid - after a 4-month review with me, you will have a chance to present what you have been working on to the Editor who will decide the possibility of taking you on board with pay.
