The Eye Emergency Department at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre has a full time vacancy for a Band 6 Ophthalmic Nurse Practitioner.
As a tertiary referral centre the casualty sees patients from the whole of Birmingham with an average of 150 patients attending per weekday. The Department is committed to developing the skills and knowledge of its staff through supervision and teaching sessions. If you are passionate about ophthalmology and want to belong to a dynamic team, this could be the post for you! It is desirable that the successful candidate will be able to use a Slit Lamp and be able to examine, diagnose and treat patients in the department's Urgent Care Clinic, deputise in the absence of the department manager and mentor junior nursing staff. A non-medical prescribing qualification is desirable. Mentorship and training will be given.
