Band 2 - Theatre Support Worker - Watford Theatres - COVID-19 in Watford General Hospital, Watford

Job description

As an employer of nearly 5,000 staff, West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is the place to be. Having have been shortlisted over the last three years for 18 national people related awards and most recently winning the Nursing Times award for Best UK Employer 2019 we are immensely proud of our achievements.

We have lots to shout about! Despite having lots of challenges, we’ve worked really hard to make West Herts a great place to work. The good news is we’re really starting to see the results of our efforts. We’re one of the few NHS organisations across the UK to have achieved a phenomenal 0% nurse vacancy rate within our adult inpatient areas. We have also recently secured over £450m capital funding to transform our sites and give our patients and colleagues within #teamwestherts the working environment they deserve.

As we grow and promote better patient care and experience, we are looking to recruit highly motivated and innovative Theatre Support Workers (TSW), who will embrace our exciting service developments, whilst providing the best care possible to our patients.

We are looking to recruit Theatre Support Workers who will play an integral role at all stages of a patient’s perioperative journey. As a Theatre Support Worker, you will be a valuable part of the Theatre team. Please read through the attached job description to see details of what the role involves.

As communication and basic numeracy are essential for this role, you will be required to successfully pass an assessment test as part of the selection process.

The successful candidate will undertake the apprenticeship qualifications at Level 2 or 3 in Clinical Healthcare (Previously known as an NVQ).

We are recruiting for full time positions covering a 24 hour, 7 day a week shift pattern (rotational shifts, with enhanced pay for weekends and nights).

Posts involve working 3 long days/nights per week with 1 week in 4 working a 4 day week.

Shifts are 12.5 hours long (this includes an hour allocated for breaks). Shifts start at 8:00am - 9:00pm or 7:45pm - 8:15am. Shifts will cover 7 days per week, days, nights and Bank Holidays.

We cannot accommodate set shift patterns, day or night only shifts. If you are unable to commit to the working pattern, as detailed above, we would suggest that you apply to join NHS Professionals.
