Oxhey Ward is currently a 12 bedded Dual Frailty Unit at Watford General Hospital, West Hertfordshire Hospital Trust, comprising of 6 female and 6 male patients. Our patients are likely to have an impaired cognition and/or impaired mobility and have a past medical history or a new diagnosis of dementia.

People with dementia and/or have a delirium may display behaviours that can be challenging at times. For this reason applicants will need to possess clear communication skills, can demonstrate calmness and have a caring and compassionate nature. Experience of working in care of the elderly would be an advantage but not essential.

We are a small and friendly unit with a welcoming multi-disciplinary team; Consultant Geriatrician, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and an Activities Co-ordinator. We ensure the very best care for our patient’s everyday, and pride ourselves on team work.
