Daily residential rate: £120

2021 NCS Programme
NCS (National Citizen Service) is a government-backed initiative with a mission to equip 15-17 year olds with the confidence, skills and support they need to make a real difference in their communities. The aim is to encourage young people from different backgrounds to mix through a local, community-based programme.
In the first week (Mon-Fri), based at a residential centre away from home, teams of young people supported by staff will take part in challenging outdoor team building activities. In the remaining two weeks (Mon-Fri), delivered from a local hub, young people will build their confidence and other life skills, and then design and deliver a project that benefits their local community utilising the skills they’ve built throughout the entire programme.

Twin offers a fixed-term contract and aims to provide longer employment consisting of a few waves. This is however, subject to the performance on the programme and young people numbers. Wave Leaders commence employment a week before their wave start date and finish a week later.
Additional opportunities in our Autumn 2021 programme may become available to those that will have worked on our summer programme(s) and received positive feedback.

About the role
Come and work for Twin, a delivery partner of NCS, as a Wave Leader and play an integral part in the organisation and implementation of the National Citizen Service (NCS) ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the programme and manage seasonal staff; maintain proper levels of young people safety, discipline and welfare.
You will be required to represent NCS goals and values effectively and be a point of contact and support for programme and core staff as well as other outside partnering charities/stakeholders, this includes being the contact between activity and progress on the wave.
You will be expected to act as a role model, encouraging young people to develop inclusive and positive behaviour towards others.

The role may require long working hours and night shifts during the residential weeks of the programme.
