Outdoor Education Instructor | Senior Instructor / Dubai Relocation

At one of our centres you could find yourself running sessions in the following areas; Watersports including; Kayaking, Canoeing, Snorkelling, Windsurfing and SUP -/ High Ropes including; Climbing, Abseiling, Leap of Faith and Jacobs Ladder / Field Studies including; Animal Encounters, Palaeontology, Environmental Awareness and Squid Dissection / Land Activities including; Sandboarding, Orienteering, Archery, Survival and Problem Solving A variety of these sessions are run with our guests on a daily basis to give them a rounded and unique experience. 

40 hours per week
Between £800 and £1,200 Per Month

What are you going to do:

At Ecoventure our goal is to increase environmental awareness and inspire young people through outdoor education and adventure. 

We are looking to employ enthusiastic people with a passion for outdoor education and the environment who can help us meet this goal.  Utilising a wide variety of activities we aim to engage, develop and challenge the students who travel with us, their conceptions of themselves, their peers and the environment around them.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions for the 2nd half of our 2021-22 season;

  • Instructors (Multi Activity, Field Study, Trekking, Water Sports, High Ropes)
  • Group Leaders
  • Trip Leaders
  • Senior Instructors (Field Studies, Adventurous Activities, Well Being and Water Sports)
  • Chief Instructor

From our base in the UAE, we also run trips to Sri Lanka, Georgia, Malaysia, Nepal and Oman.

Experience and qualifications are required to vary by position.

Instructor AED3,500 - 4,500/month (dependent on qualifications & experience) + accommodation, meals & flight allowance + training courses

Senior Instructor AED5000 - 6000/month (dependent on qualifications & experience) + accommodation, meals & flight allowance + training courses

Chief Instructor AED7000 - 8500/month (dependent on qualifications & experience) + accommodation, meals & flight allowance + training courses

Training Course - We will 2 courses. Either ERCA Traditional ropes course instructor, Paddle Sports Instructor and Wilderness First Aid at the start of April. 

Activity Instructor, Outdoor Activity Instructor, Watersports Instructor, Field Studies Instructors, Instructor Internship, Multi Activity Instructor, Apprentice Activity Instructor, Intern

Package includes monthly salary, flight allowance, accommodation, meals, visa, health insurance, paid leave (for contracts over 6 months).

Extra information

There are no minimum qualifications but the salary will reflect qualifications and experience.  First and foremost we are looking for outgoing people who are positive, willing to learn and are passionate about outdoor education and sharing their knowledge and passion with students.

You must have a valid 1st aid certificate and be fully vaccinated.  A good conduct certificate (or similar) is needed to apply for a visa and a degree (particularly in a relevant field) is highly beneficial.

Willingness to work in a close team setting is paramount as instructors work together as a team in every aspect of the job. A positive attitude, ability to communicate openly and flexibility towards last-minute changes is essential as working in the middle east requires a large degree of adaptability. 

Previous experience and a driving license are highly desirable.

Qualifications/knowledge that we look for are:

  • SPA / Climbing wall insrtuctor or equivalent  
  • BC Paddle sport Instructor or equivalent
  • ML or equivalent
  • RYA Start Windsurf Instructor or Equivalent
  • GNAS
  • BSAK snorkel Instructor
  • Biology or Geography degree or equivalent
  • Outdoor Education Degree
  • Experience in a Field studies centre or outdoor environmental education facility 
  • Knowledge of basic scientific concepts in ecology, conservation, biology and geography fields.
