 Pharmacy Assistant

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Site Location: 32 Clifton

Hourly rate: starting at £9.15

 York Medical Group are a large, inner city practice and their own Primary Care Network serving a population of 44,000 over 8 sites and consider themselves as a forward thinking, innovative and driven team of professionals meeting the demands of patient care.   We have a diversified workforce made up of GPs, ANPs, UCPs, Paramedics, MSK, Pharmacists, Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Health Care Assistants, Care Coordinators, Link Workers and Mental Health Workers.

Even though the Covid pandemic has turned our ‘normal practice’ upside down, we are continuing to plan for the future and are committed to providing a friendly, open and supportive environment where our staff feel valued, safe, appreciated and comfortable with sharing ideas which could improve and diversify our services further.  

Working under the guidance and supervision of the Pharmacists on site, your main duties will include; supporting the safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication to patients, providing technical and administrative support to the Clinical Pharmacist and Clinicians, supporting the reception teams with complex queries around medication and supporting the implementation of medication changes under the guidance of the Clinical Pharmacy.  Completing audits around patient safety in the prescribing of medication and present the information for sharing with the clinical team.

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible, have a positive outlook, be competent using computer systems including Excel, be approachable and friendly and have a good sense of humour.  Experience of S1 would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate, as would further development and funding to become a Pharmacy Technician.
