About the Trust
West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute hospital-based and specialist healthcare services to around half a million people living in Hertfordshire, north London and further afield.
The Trust was the first hospital in Europe to treat patients with Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, a type of ventilator that helps patients to breathe more naturally and recover more quickly.
Hertfordshire has the best of both worlds, surrounded by beautiful countryside but with good road and rail links to both London and Cambridge, as well as comprehensive bus services across the main towns (Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans and Watford).
What you’ll be responsible for
- 1 To assess, plan, implement and evaluate child/family centred care with consideration of individual ethnic, cultural, social, developmental and religious needs
- 2 To keep up to date with current trends and developments in all aspects of paediatric nursing
- 3 Coordinate discharge planning, assessing patient and family needs on admission, document appropriate information and liaising with appropriate personnel as required
- 4 To practice within the code of practice/conduct as laid down by NMC
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
- A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 3 years
- Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
- Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with CHS policy and NMC guidelines
- Undertake regular mandatory training*
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
