USA Camp Counselor

Get paid to travel and work in the USA next summer, with no hidden admin fees! Plan activities, and build relationships by using your communication skills and adaptability.

50 - 60 hours per week
Between £1,000 and £2,500 Per Month

What are you going to do:

Unlike other summer camp recruiters, at Camp Connections, we are committed to providing a transparent and fair process for our candidates. We DO NOT charge any admin fees. You only pay for your visa ($160) and flight, and in some cases, our camps cover part or all of those costs. Your dream summer camp experience shouldn't come with unnecessary expenses.

Position Overview: We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as General Camp Counsellors for our American summer camps. As a camp counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable and transformative experiences for campers while fostering a safe and inclusive environment. This position involves living in a bunk setting with children of your own gender, where you will guide, support, and engage campers in a variety of activities and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

● Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times. Supervise and monitor campers during activities, meals, rest periods, and other camp-related events. Implement safety protocols and emergency
procedures as needed.

● Role Model and Mentor: Serve as a positive role model and mentor for campers by demonstrating integrity, respect, and responsibility. Foster positive relationships and encourage campers to develop personal growth, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

● Activity Facilitation: Lead and participate in a wide range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, nature exploration, team-building exercises, and more. Tailor activities to campers' interests and abilities, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for all.

● Cabin Leadership: Live in a bunk setting with campers of your own sex. Provide emotional support, guidance, and create a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere within the cabin. Address any concerns or conflicts that may arise among campers and facilitate team-building within the group.

● Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with campers, fellow counsellors, camp leadership, and parents/guardians. Provide updates on camper progress, behaviour, and any concerns to appropriate parties.

● Daily Operations: Assist with daily camp operations, including meal times, camper transitions, and special events. Contribute to the overall smooth functioning of the camp through teamwork and cooperation.

● Skill Development: Help campers acquire new skills, build confidence, and discover their strengths through various activities. Encourage campers to step out of their comfort zones and try new experiences.

● Camp Spirit and Traditions: Embrace camp traditions and create a sense of community by participating in campfire songs, skits, themed events, and other camp activities that promote unity and enjoyment

Additional Information:
● This is a seasonal position for the duration of the summer camp session.
● Room and board are provided, as counsellors will live on-site in gender-specific bunks.
● Background checks and reference checks will be conducted on all candidates.
● Camp counsellor training will be provided before the start of the camp season.

Specialist Roles: In addition to general camp counsellor positions, we also offer specialized roles such as lifeguard, high ropes instructors, football coaches, and more. These roles provide unique opportunities for individuals with specific skill sets and interests to contribute to the camp experience in meaningful ways.
