Job Title:         Computer Teaching Assistant/Technician

Location:          Reddish Hall, Stockport, Greater Manchester

Salary:              £20,000 per annum (pre-tax take home pay, not pro-rata)

Hours:              37.5 hours per week; Monday – Friday

Contract:          Permanent, Term-time

About the Role

  • Ensure the maintenance of an orderly and safe learning environment making sure that equipment/resources/materials are set out on time and as per instructions received and used safely to enable pupils meet their learning targets.
  • Assist the Computing teacher with learning activities and helping to engage each student with the topic being taught
  • Assist in the setting up and testing of physical computing resources, such as the Raspberry Pi and Microbits
  • Support the whole classes, small groups or individual pupils in accessing learning activities as directed by the Computing teacher to enable pupils’ progress towards their targets.
  • Be aware of and support differences to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Undertake basic record keeping in respect of pupil learning, behaviour management, well-being, child protection etc., as directed to support the Computing Teacher

Essential Criteria

  • IT or Computer Science related qualification
  • Previous experience of working with young people
  • Experience in relevant discipline
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of key aspects of the KS3 and KS4 Computing curriculum
