ASAP With the growth in popularity of people wanting to learn British Sign Language (BSL) and some schools now looking to offer BSL, we are recruiting for a BSL Teaching Assistant who can adopt their skills to aid the development of children with hearing impairment. We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will support an individual child with their BSL communication, under the direction of the leadership team.

Do you hold a qualification in British Sign Language? Do you have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar relevant experience working with children? Are you confident working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils to aid their learning?

Duties and responsibilities Your responsibilities will include but is not limited to: Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children\'s achievement and progress Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional well-being of the pupils Provide 1:1 and small group interventions to students who need additional support with signing and communication Make appropriate use of a range of monitoring and assessment strategies to evaluate pupil\'s progress

Requirements Must hold a Level 1 and above British Sign Language Qualification Experience of teaching or supporting children with Special Educational Needs A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines Strong behaviour management skills Ability to relay BSL from hearing impaired students to non-signing students
