What are you going to do:

The role of Activity Leader is key to the success of the summer school. Activity Leaders plan and deliver excursions and activities for students. These have important educational value connected with gaining confidence in using English, learning about the UK and learning to communicate across cultures.

Excursions and activities are also key to the students having lots of fun and having a summer experience that they will never forget. A great excursion and activity programme that fully engages students and which they all participate in means a positive atmosphere contributing hugely to a successful summer school.

The key to successful activities and excursions is planning, creative thinking and the ability to act in a professional but friendly way with students aged 12-17. It is essential the Activity Leaders see ‘the big picture’ on summer school and work closely with other teams to ensure a safe, educational and fun experience for students.

Essential Skills, Qualifications, Mindsets:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate
  • Experience of leading sports or other activities (e.g. creative) with teenagers
  • Demonstrable ability to break complex tasks into small manageable steps
  • Demonstrable time management, IT and administration skills e.g. for creating registers & excursion itineraries
