Co-ordinator/warden needed for Italian village

Spend the summer in the beautiful Italian village of Bajardo. ACLE is looking for someone to help co-ordinate the running of the company accommodation and tend to the needs of the guests staying there.

Co-ordinator/Warden

Responsible for the logistical running of the companies Bajardo accommodation. Including guest management, accommodation set-up and point of contact for guests.

About the company and Bajardo:

ACLE (Associazione Culturale Linguistica Educational) is a non-profit organisation endorsed by the Italian Ministry of Education. ACLE promotes a student-based teaching method and is the first association in Italy to teach English to children through T.I.E. (Theatre in Education) and to organise drama courses for teachers. ACLE has been operating successfully for over 30 years. The company was founded by Arrigo Speziali and is managed by a team of collaborators located in Sanremo, Lodi, Arcore, Bologna, Salerno, Rome, and the Veneto area.

ACLE owns several houses in the mountain village of Bajardo. Steeped in history and atmosphere, the village offers breathtaking views of the French Alps and the Mediterranean Sea. The village offers essential services, including three restaurants, two grocery shops, three bars/cafes, a post office and a Catholic Church. Parking spaces are located in the centre of the village as the historic core is closed off to traffic.

Accommodations are offered to ACLE staff and tutors who are in Italy for the summer as part of our summer camps programme. In addition ACLE runs several teacher training courses over the summer, for which teachers are also provided accommodation in Bajardo.

The position available is to help see the smooth running of these accommodations and the courses that are held there throughout the summer.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

·Organizing and booking in guests and tutors (includes liaising with the English office team on number of tutors and duration).

·Meeting guests/tutors in the village to escort them to their accommodation (please note some guests may need help with their cases).

· Preparing and (on occasion) assisting in the cleaning of the houses and rooms.

·Assisting the preparation of courses including; food provisions, accommodation, guest management.

·On-call assistance for all tutors and guests staying in Bajardo.

·Enforcing the ACLE code of conduct for tutors and guests.

Expected Working Hours:

The candidate must be flexible. One batch of 5 days may be very busy but then another batch of 5 days can be very quiet. When on duty your working hours will be from 9am-6pm, however during times when there are guests you are expected to be on call 24/7 should any emergencies arise. Furthermore during courses hours will be extended to match the course outline. When guests are not staying there will be extended periods of 'down time'.

Contract runs from: May 30th- September 15th (with the possibility of extension)

Accommodation is also provided. This will be a single room in one of the Bajardo houses. When courses are running this house may be shared.

ACLE also provides a €150 travel contribution for your arrival into Italy.

Candidates must be fluent in both English and Italian.

Hold an EU passport

Full driver's license

Candidates must be organised and professional and prepared to take on the challenges involved in this role.

Passion is more important that credentials.
