Accountant - Glasgow - £45,000 - £50,000

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Management Accountant to join their Operational Finance function based in Glasgow. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a central part in the production of financial information and support a forward-thinking organisation.

This is a commercially driven position where you’ll act as a key business partner, producing accurate management accounts, delivering insightful financial analysis, and helping the business understand and manage operational cost drivers across a diverse supplier and client base.

Main Duties

• Prepare monthly management accounts for designated business areas.
• Manage all month-end activities, ensuring timelines are consistently achieved.
• Work alongside commercial teams to provide clear analysis of variances against budget and forecast.
• Lead regular performance and review meetings, ensuring actions are recorded and progressed.
• Develop a strong understanding of operational and contractual cost drivers.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting cycle.
• Maintain robust controls over balance sheet reconciliations.
• Produce weekly and monthly performance reports and support enhancements to reporting processes.
• Assist with ad-hoc analysis and wider finance initiatives when required.

About You

• Professionally qualified (ACCA, CIMA, CA) or qualified by experience.
• Strong Excel capability and confidence working with various IT systems.
• Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable driving improvements across processes and reporting.
