Pastoral Teaching Assistant | Lewisham

School-based Pastoral Teaching Assistant opportunity at a welcoming, well-supported Secondary School

What’s on offer:

• Full-time Pastoral Teaching Assistant position
• £24,000–£26,000 (dependant on experience)
• September start, with immediate trial day available
• Work closely with the Pastoral and Safeguarding teams
• Support with behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and transitions
• Opportunity to work 1:1 and with small groups
• Clear routes into future training (e.g., counselling, teaching, safeguarding)

About you

• Empathetic, patient and able to build strong, trusting relationships
• Confident communicating with pupils, parents and staff
• Interested in supporting mental health, wellbeing and behaviour
• Able to remain calm and consistent, even in challenging moments
• Happy to assist with restorative conversations and day-to-day pastoral issues
• Organised, reliable and able to keep accurate notes when required
• Keen to contribute positively to a school community
