SHEQ Advisor

Location: North West

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + company vehicle + benefits


We’re supporting a well-established construction and infrastructure contractor in the appointment of a SHEQ Advisor to support and drive high standards of safety, health, environmental and quality performance across multiple sites and offices in the North West.


This is a hands-on, site-focused role offering the opportunity to influence culture, improve systems and work closely with operational teams to deliver safe, compliant and right-first-time outcomes. You’ll play a key role in the delivery and continual improvement of the organisation’s SHEQ strategy and management systems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Undertake regular site inspections and audits across all business streams
  • Review working practices and provide constructive, practical feedback to operational teams
  • Coach and mentor site teams to embed positive SHEQ behaviours
  • Produce clear inspection, audit and incident reports with trend analysis and recommendations
  • Monitor SHEQ KPIs, supporting dashboards and performance reporting
  • Support rollout of SHEQ standards, procedures and improvement initiatives
  • Work with subcontractors and supply chain partners to maintain SHEQ standards
  • Maintain management systems and accreditations (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)


What we’re looking for:


  • 1-3 years experience in a SHEQ Advisor role
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels
  • Strong understanding of SHEQ legislation and industry standards
  • Experienced in inspections, audits, incident investigation and action close-out
  • Data-led mindset with the ability to analyse trends and performance
  • Full UK driving licence and medically fit for site work
